Is it really free?
Yes. Drafting, document storage, citations, readiness scoring, and Word export are all included, with no card and no trial clock. TSD Modernization Solutions pays the AI bill. To keep that bill sane, each organization has a monthly fair-use allowance of AI work (about two million model tokens, far more than a typical month of grant writing uses). If an organization ever reaches it, drafting pauses and the allowance resets at the start of the next month.
Where do my documents go?
Into a Postgres database hosted by Supabase, in rows that belong to your organization alone and that the database refuses to serve to anyone else. The Trust page walks through storage, access, retention, and deletion in plain English.
Does the AI train on my data?
No. Anthropic and OpenAI process your text under commercial API terms that do not use it for training, and TSD does not train anything on it either.
Will funders flag an AI-assisted application?
What funders now ask for is disclosure. NIH and NSF both published AI guidance in 2025, and many foundation forms now ask about AI use directly. Every Word export from this tool ends with a submittable AI-use statement, so the honest answer is already written for you. The funder AI rules page tracks what each funder expects. The exact statement the tool attaches is below, ready to paste.
AI-use disclosure: Our organization used an AI assistant (TSD Grant Writer) to help draft portions of this application. The tool drafted responses grounded solely in Our organization's own documents — such as its mission statement, program data, past proposals, and financial records. Every factual claim in the draft is cited to a specific source document; the AI did not generate any statistics, dollar amounts, dates, or names. Any figure that could not be traced to a source document was flagged for a person to supply or verify. All AI-assisted content was reviewed, edited, and verified by Our organization staff, who are responsible for the accuracy and substance of this application. This disclosure is provided to meet the AI-use transparency expectations of funders, including NIH (NOT-OD-25-132) and NSF. Edit it to match the specific funder's required wording.
Which AI models write the drafts?
Anthropic Claude models. A fast model reads the RFP and pulls out the questions, and a stronger model writes each grounded answer. OpenAI’s text-embedding-3-small model powers the document search. The keyless demo uses none of them; its drafts are templated from the built-in sample corpus.
What file types work?
PDF, plain text, and Markdown files. You can also paste text directly or import a public web page by URL.
Can multiple staff share one organization?
Yes. An organization can have any number of member accounts, and every member sees the same documents and drafts. There is no self-serve invite screen yet, so email nashdavis@tsd-ventures.com and we connect your teammates to your organization.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. Remove any document from the Documents page whenever you want, which deletes its stored text and search index. To delete your whole account and corpus, email nashdavis@tsd-ventures.com and we remove it.
Who built this, and why?
TSD Modernization Solutions, a small North Carolina firm that builds practical software for local organizations. The firm funds the AI and treats this tool as its pro bono product for the nonprofit sector. What it earns back is a reputation for honest work.
What is the sample demo?
A fictional shelter called Maple Grove Animal Rescue with a built-in corpus of six sample documents. The demo parses a real RFP, drafts templated answers grounded in those samples, and labels everything as sample data. It stores nothing you paste and makes no AI calls, so you can judge the citation system before creating an account. You can also download a complete sample export to see the finished Word document it produces.
